What an amazing summer we are having. So great to have this warm weather here. I'm sure it will stay well into September. Yikes, isn't that just around the corner? This summer has been so much fun for me. I've enjoyed working in my studio, listening to the birds chirp outside, watching the deer stroll by and eat my hedge (ahhh yes, lovely Gordon Head and it's deer), and just enjoying the natural light that fills my studio everyday. It's been a pleasure to have you all come in and see me, and I appreciate all the support that you have given me. Can you believe that Jewels has been open for 6 months now!!! My how time fly's. Looking forward to seeing all your smiley faces soon. xo Julia
Heat Styling 101
A lot of my clients ask me 'What's the best way to cut down in frizz and to make my hair shinier?' I tell them ~ styling products to protect your hair from heat styling and
finishing serum to smooth down the frizz as well as deep conditioning treatments to lock in moisture. But, the best place to start is to look at what you are using for heat styling. Yes, it can
make a world of difference. The blow-drier I use on my hair, and on my clients hair is the Chi Pro hair-drier.

The Extreme Side Part

Add a little elegant old-Hollywood glamor to your everyday look.
To pull off an extreme side part, your hair can be straight or wavy, any color, any texture, any style. Simply use the tip of a fine tooth comb to create a part that is one to two inches closer
to your ear than your natural part. It should fall somewhere above the arch of your eyebrow. Use a steady hand to create a perfect line from your forehead all the way back to the crown of your
head. Keep the look soft by skipping hairstyling products, or use a glossing serum to add shine and give this trend a sleek French-inspired look.
